Hi, I’m Marisa, interior design consultant and owner of Henrietta & Rogers
I spent the first 15 years of my career as a social worker.
Huh? You might be thinking the switch to interior design was a rather unusual career move, but at their core, these two professions share an important overlap:
Both are dedicated to improving well-being.
While my years as a social worker were incredibly meaningful, I’m now endlessly fascinated by the connections between happiness and our homes and how improvements in our environment can have a positive impact on our mental and emotional health. I’ve put this knowledge to work in creating a feel-good home for me and my family.
At the same time, I understand how challenging design and renovation work can be. I’ve lived through two of my own kitchen renovations and a master bath renovation and have first-hand knowledge of the trials and tears!
Through it all I’ve learned a lot about how to create a feel-good home, as well as the practical, attention-to-detail work that comes with designing, decorating, and renovating.
I’m ready to put that knowledge, wisdom and experience to work for you, serving as your trusted guide and partner in the creation of your own, feel-good home. Let’s connect!
More about me:
I’m a native Austinite and have always been a bit of a homebody.
My early, albeit nerdy, design start came from arranging and rearranging my collection of Star Trek books and memorabilia as a kid and teen (Live Long and Prosper!).
I’m a project management pro, and find this skill incredibly useful in my work as a designer.
I love color and paint and am a certified TrueColor expert.
I’m mom to two young kids, married to a Duke Blue Devil alum, and in my spare time love decorating and fixing up our 1960s ranch-style home in Austin’s Allandale neighborhood.
Now that you know more about me, I’d love to learn more about you!
